2016 Application Check List

2016 Application Check List

Here is your guide to applying to the 2016 Fort Collins Fringe Festival!  (Schedule subject to change.)

2016 Fort Collins Fringe Festival September 15-17, 2016 Application Prep List

The Fort Collins Fringe Festival is for courageous artists who want to collaborate and share their voice with their community; a place where form is changed and challenged; where new words find their wings; where the unlikely story comes to life. It is the heart-beat of the living theatre community, where artists have a safe space to play and create with their community cheering them on to take risks and be bold. Audiences and artists alike are drawn to the concept – where work is original, minimalistic, experimental, short, and site-specific. Fringe pieces can be performed anywhere from a theatre, a car, a pub, or a stump in the park.

The complete 2016 Fort Collins Fringe Festival application is due by Friday, June 10, 2021.

Artists will be notified of their acceptance and performance schedule by Friday, July 1, 2021.

An Application Prep list is included in the following pages. Please use this information to plan and present your project.

Your application helps our selection committee make scheduling decisions, and enables us to best support you and your work. We understand you may be just starting your creative process, so complete the form as best you can based on what you think your work will look like in September. Once accepted, and closer to the festival, you will be asked to complete a Project Details Form that will cover more technical and marketing questions.

Once you are selected, we will give you as much support as possible, but you are primarily responsible for developing and producing your piece, including script, performers, rehearsals, costumes, props, etc. But remember that Fringe Festivals were created to be “grassroots”— theatre that springs from impulse and creativity—so keep it simple. The Fringe provides you with the venue, marketing, ticketing, scheduling, and community.

Below, each section and its questions will be detailed for your preparation needs.

“FCFF Marketing Materials” Explanation

This term refers to social media, playbills, posters, email updates, etc.

Part II - Project Information
The project information section is the biggest portion of the application. This section gives FCFF staff a clear picture of your proposed project. -Estimated Length of Performance
-In order to keep the festival atmosphere, FCFF staff has decided to cap performance run times at 45 minutes. This helps us with scheduling and maintaining a good festival “flow.”
-Age Range of Potential Audience
-Because we want to market to the widest possible audience and help each project serve the appropriate audiences, we want to know what audience is appropriate for your piece. Please take into consideration content warnings.

Technical Information
-Type of Space Desired

Part III - Fort Collins Fringe Festival Information
This section addresses your alignment with FCFF’s Core Values. It also covers additional miscellaneous requests and information for the FCFF staff.

We will ask of you:
